Project Description

HELP FINDING TREATMENT OR RECOVERY

Your health plan’s network must include enough providers that you are able to get the right care, at the right time, in a language you can understand. If you need help finding quality mental health or addiction treatment, the resources below may help, or  visit the RI Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals (BHDDH) for a full list of Community Mental Health Centers and programs that offer recovery, treatment and emergency services.

ASK YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR

Start with your primary care doctor, they know you best. Ask them to refer you to a mental health professional and to confirm they are a part of your insurance plan’s network. Confirm by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card.

BEHAVIOR HEALTH LINK

Behavior Health Link (BH Link) is a one-stop, statewide 24/7 call-in center that connects people to appropriate care and resources, including when they or someone they care about is experiencing a behavioral healthcare crisis. Call the BH Link Hotline at 401-414-LINK(5465).

RECOVERY HOTLINE

If you need substance use recovery assistance, you can call Rhode Island’s RECOVERY HOTLINE at 401-942-STOP (7867). The hotline is staffed 24/7 by English and Spanish-speaking counselors licensed in chemical dependency. Calls are confidential.
